Club des retraités d’Unifor section locale 698
We want to highlight one of our retirees' club's commitments: to bring together retired workers from local section 698 - Unifor.
When it was founded in 1985, we were known as Club des Retraités-Local 1163 - TCA Quebec.
Following the closure of the GM plant in Ste-Thérèse in 2002, a merger took place and we became local 698-TCA Québec.
2013 brought us the largest union creation in the Communications, Paper and Energy (CEP) and Canadian Auto Workers (CAW) sectors, which took place on September 1rst 2013.
The creation of this new union, with more than 315,000 members, is known as Unifor.
Unifor becomes the largest private sector union in both Canada and Quebec.
We care about the cultural and social interests of our members and, in support, we organize various activities for our retirees and we remain active in the community.
