Isabelle Hudon, President of Sun Life Financial, Québec, will be the Honorary Chair of this year’s splendid benefit gala. The Emerald Ball is a unique philanthropic event that will offer the more than 350 anticipated guests a chance to delight in the culinary prowess of Jean Soulard, Executive Chef at Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, as well as the dancing rhythms of 30 piece orchestra Les Voltigeurs de Québec, in keeping with the impressive military decorum that sets the grand affair apart. A draw will be held for a piece of jewellery set with an emerald, an exclusive creation by designer Hélène Savard valued at $5,000.
The Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem is an international order of chivalry that dates back to the 11th-century Crusades. The present-day Order of St. Lazarus has more than 3,000 members worldwide. There are 11 commanderies of the Order in Canada, including the very active Commandery of Québec, which has donated over $1,000,000 to various causes and foundations over the years. This year, the Québec Commandery of the Order of St. Lazarus is pleased to support the Fondation Sourdine through its Emerald Ball, and invites all those who are interested to attend an exclusive gala fit for the most lavish of venues, for a noble cause.
