Since 1984, our organization aims to meet the needs and expectations of people with diabetes and their relatives in the region of Laval and the Laurentians. This is the reason why our members always benefit from ongoing support.

Our goals:

Prevention, awareness and education … to complete the knowledge necessary to better manage diabetes.

Provide services … to assist and offer the right resources.

Support research… to overcome diabetes someday.

Defend the rights and interests of people with diabetes … in order to avoid any form of socioeconomic discrimination.

Our services:

  • Become a member! Over 30 benefits at a cost of $ 20 per year.
  • Easily accessible from Monday to Friday.
  • The magazine: Plein Soleil (published by Diabète Québec).
  • Reference and recipe books on sale at our offices.
  • Free informational pamphlets.
  • A website that is updated weekly (www.diabetelaval.qc.ca).
  • Information by e-mail (info@diabetelaval.qc.ca).
  • A network of 25 operators (volunteers).
  • Offers the program ACCÈS-LOBE.

Our activities:

  • Conferences in Laval and St-Jérôme
  • Dietary and label reading courses taught by a dietitian.
  • Courses on foot care prevention by a podiatrist.
  •  Awareness days (glucose levels measured by a nurse).
  • Information prepared by Diabète Québec given by a nutritionist and a nurse.
  • ‘Coffee and Chat’ for insulin-dependent people to share tips and advice.
  • Diabetes Exposition, an annual open house about the disease. (November).
  • Annual benefit concert (Messmer, March 2013).
