Lobe supports the Grand DÉFI Pierre Lavoie

June 29, 2011
For a second year in a row, Lobe Santé auditive et communication supports the CyclO-R-L team, partially composed of ENT doctors. They will be participating in the 1000 Km event called the Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie.

A spectacular cycling marathon: 1 000 Km

Traveling, on bicycle, a distance of 1000 Km in 60 hours starting from Saguenay−Lac-Saint-Jean all the way to Montreal, with several stops in various towns: that’s the 1000 Km event.

The 1000 km is a major event which receives incredible support, much like the biggest sporting events. In addition to the outstanding organisational comity, more than a hundred volunteers donate their time for this event.

Each year, the numbers of cyclists wanting to participate in the event increases, but the places are limited. As usual, Pierre is at the head of the group for the whole race followed by the teams of 4 or 5 cyclists which will relay periodically behind him.

Each team registered in 2011 was associated to an elementary school of their choice to encourage them to participate in the contest ‘Lève-toi et bouge !’,  which takes place in the month of May to promote a healthy lifestyle. All the donations exceeding the inscription fee are donated to the school.

Lastly, congratulations to M. Pierre Lavoie, a caring man, who created this extraordinary event to motivate the whole province to start moving!
