Pierre Lavoie invites experienced and devoted cyclists to the 8th edition of the 1,000 km ride from Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean to Montreal on June 16, 17, 18, and 19.

The Grand défi Pierre Lavoie is the biggest health event in Quebec. Its mission is to motivate kids to adopt healthy life habits and raise parents’ awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

In 2016, close to 200 cycling teams, sponsoring just as many primary schools, will tackle this challenge to raise money to improve sports facilities and purchase equipment to motivate kids to get moving.

The Lobe Cycl-ORL team

After months of intensive training and pedalling thousands of kilometres, the Lobe Cycl-ORL team members will take the starting line to ride the 1,000 km between Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean and Montreal.

Here are the team members:

Christophe Grenier, team captain and audioprosthetist, Thetford Mines

Martin Cousineau, president and chief executive officer of the Lobe clinics network

Simon Darveau, ENT specialist, Drummondville

Serge Principe, CPA auditor, associate CA at Mazars

Sylvain Burguet, Lobe network development advisor

Pierre Lacroix, substitute and designated driver for the team

Each of our five generous and courageous cyclists will ride between 350 and 500 km during this four-day, action-packed journey!

Sponsored school

Once again, the Lobe Cycl-ORL team will be sponsoring École oraliste de Québec pour enfants malentendants ou sourds. In 2015, the team proudly handed the school a cheque for $15,000. The goal for 2016 is to match or exceed this sum, nothing less!

Cheering us on is great—but a donation goes much further!

To make a donation, visit the Grand défi Pierre Lavoie website (legdpl.com/en/the-1000-km), click on the 1,000-KM EVENT: SUPPORT A TEAM button, and choose the Lobe Cycl-ORL team.

Thank you for supporting our riders and helping Quebec’s deaf and hearing-impaired children!
