Audioprosthetists who work at Lobe clinics believe it is very important that people be made aware of the importance of taking care of their hearing, since 10% of the general population suffers from hearing disorders.* Meanwhile, 80% of those people go undiagnosed or untreated* due to a lack information on the appropriate steps for dealing with a hearing problem. It was these findings that spurred the creation of hearing health seminars.

Hearing health seminars are offered at many locations, such as independent living facilities, community halls, schools, companies and health fairs.

These seminars cover several topics.

  • These include the anatomy of the ear and how it works;
  • Causes and symptoms of hearing loss;
  • Treatments for hearing loss (surgery, medication, hearing aids);
  • The various hearing health professionals and what they do;
  • Tips to facilitate communication between a hearing impaired person and others.

The seminars are always adapted to the specific needs of the participants.

These informative meetings are offered at no charge by professionals from the hearing health community who are recognized in their field. Our team provides all the material necessary for the seminars. Free copies of Lobe Magazine, Québec’s only magazine devoted entirely to hearing health, are handed out to participants as well. Participants can even have their auditory canals looked at (non-diagnostic otoscopy).
